According to the California Highway Patrol, a multi-vehicle accident occurred in Griffith Park at around 8:50 p.m. The crash happened on the northbound 5 Freeway on Monday.
According to the investigators, two unknown vehicles and a 58-year-old were involved in the collision. The events leading up to the collision are not yet known at this time.
A 58-year-old was identified as one of the drivers who suffered significant injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. He has since been identified as Sergio Garcia.
The officials stated that the cause of the accident is still being investigated at this time. According to the reports, it is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the accident. No additional information regarding the fatal crash was provided by the Deputies.
