The New Mexico State Police reported a motor vehicle crash on Monday morning. The accident happened on Interstate 25 in Los Lunas at around 5:30 a.m.
The collision involved a motorcycle and a vehicle. A 2019 Harley Davidson motorcycle was travelling southbound on I-25 when it was struck from behind by a Lexus.
Robert Shepherd, the motorcycle’s 58-year-old driver, was pronounced dead at the scene after incurring fatal injuries. The Lexus driver was unharmed.
Alcohol was not a factor in the collision, according to the NMSP.
Due to the collision, I-25’s southbound lanes were shut down on Wednesday morning. They’re now open again. No other details regarding the fatal crash are available currently.
