58-Year-Old Melinda Kay Shaw Died In A Motor Vehicle Crash In Lee County (Lee County, NM)

The New Mexico Police reported a  motor vehicle crash in Lee County involving three vehicles.

The accident happened at the intersection of Prairie View Road and US Highway 82 at around 7 p.m.

When a Ford truck being driven by a 46-year-old woman attempted to cross, a Tahoe traveling southwest struck the pickup. A Ford Escape that was following the Tahoe also crashed into the Ford truck.

Melinda Kay Shaw, a 58-year-old pickup truck passenger, passed away at the scene. The driver and the 10-year-old girl passenger were injured and taken by helicopter to a Lubbock hospital.

Three people—a 38-year-old woman driving the Escape, a 41-year-old male Tahoe driver, and a 12-year-old boy passenger—were taken to a local hospital before being flown to a hospital in Lubbock.

The fatal crash is being investigated by the officials.
