On Monday afternoon, a 58-year-old man suffered critical injuries following a traffic collision in Las Vegas.
As per the initial information, the two-vehicle crash was reported at about 3:46 p.m. near South Las Vegas Boulevard and East Wigwam Avenue in which an electric scooter and a pickup truck were involved. The preliminary reports showed that a 21-year-old woman was driving a pickup truck and was stopped facing north on Las Vegas Boulevard in the single left turn lane to westbound Wigwam Avenue.
On the other hand, a 58-year-old man was driving an electric scooter going north on Las Vegas Boulevard on the paved shoulder adjacent to the outside northbound travel lane. At some point of time, the truck turned right from the left turn lane and crossed the travel path of the electric scooter.
On arrival, medical personnel rushed the scooter rider to UMC Trauma with life-threatening injuries. The truck driver stayed at the scene, and did not display any signs of impairment during field sobriety tests. No further details were provided.
The crash remains under investigation.
