According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, a fatal crash was reported on Wednesday night in Van Zandt County.
Authorities confirmed that one person died due to the accident.
Officials stated that the collision occurred eastbound on US Highway 80.
A 2014 Ford Focus was traveling eastbound, when the driver of a 2013 Freightliner truck tractor towing a semi-trailer was traveling westbound and attempted to make a left turn.
The Ford lost control of its speed and collided with the trailer.
The driver of the Ford was identified as 56-Year-Old Teresa Reyes.
Reyes was transported to the hospital but later succumbed to her injuries.
Her careless driving caused the accident to occur.
The crash remains under investigation by the police authorities.
