57-year-old Aurea Lilia Gomez-Gamaro killed after a wreck in Phoenix (Phoenix, AZ)

On Monday afternoon, 57-year-old Aurea Lilia Gomez-Gamaro lost her life after the driver of a pickup reportedly ran a red light and crashed into three other vehicles at a Phoenix intersection.

As per the initial information, the driver of a Ford pickup truck was heading west on Thomas Road just before 12:30 p.m. when they drove through a red light and slammed into a Nissan Versa driver traveling south on 55th Avenue. After the initial crash, the pickup truck collided with two other vehicles that were stopped at a red light.

The driver of the Ford did not receive serious injuries or showed any signs of impairment. The driver of the Nissan, later identified as 57-year-old Aurea Lilia Gomez-Gamaro, was rushed to the hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries. The other two drivers were not seriously injured. The Ford driver’s name has not been disclosed at this time.

An investigation is ongoing.
