56-year-old woman injured after being hit by an electric scooter in San Francisco (San Francisco, CA)

A 56-year-old woman received injuries after being hit by an electric scooter Thursday afternoon in San Francisco’s South of Market neighborhood.

As per the initial information, the pedestrian accident was reported at 3:55 p.m. on Mission and 11th streets. The preliminary reports showed that a 24-year-old man on an electric scooter reportedly ran the red light and struck the woman, who was in a crosswalk with a green light.

On arrival, medics transported the woman to a hospital to be treated for her injuries, which were not believed to be life-threatening. The identity of the injured victim has not been released. No other information is available.

The incident remains under review.
