56-year-old Jorge Ramirez dead after a single-vehicle crash in Pasco (Pasco, WA)

Authorities identified 56-year-old Jorge Ramirez, from Kennewick, as the man who lost his life following a traffic collision early Friday morning in Pasco.

The fatal single-vehicle crash took place on I-182 near 4th Ave at 2 AM. According to the investigation reports, Ramirez was driving a pickup truck eastbound when he failed to maintain control of the vehicle and hit the guardrail.

On arrival, emergency responders performed life saving measures on the man, but he was later declared dead. It is unknown if drugs or alcohol played a factor in the collision. Ramirez was not buckled up at the time of the accident.

The eastbound lanes of Interstate 182 near 4th Ave were shut down for multiple hours as crews worked at the scene, but all lanes have since reopened. No additional information has been provided.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
