56-year-old Jason Curnel and 57-year-old Miguel Martinez died after a crash in Los Angeles (Los Angeles, CA)

Authorities identified 56-year-old Jason Curnel and 57-year-old Miguel Martinez, from Covina, as the two men who lost their lives after a car rear-ended a big rig Wednesday on the westbound Foothill (210) Freeway in Verdugo Hills.

As per the initial information, the fatal traffic collision was reported at around 12:10 a.m. Wednesday near La Tuna Canyon Road. Authorities actively responded to the scene and, on arrival, found the car pinned under the big rig. The men succumbed to their injuries at the scene.

Curnel’s city of residence remains known at this time. The reports revealed that the crews pulled the crumpled vehicle from beneath the truck, which wound up on the right shoulder of the freeway. The men were discovered amid the wreckage under the truck. No other information is available.

An investigation is ongoing.
