55-year-old Tammy Silkwood and two others hospitalized after a single-vehicle crash on Highway 101 (Santa Maria, CA)

55-year-old Tammy Silkwood and two others were hospitalized following a DUI crash Sunday night on Highway 101.

As per the initial information, the single-car accident took place on Highway 101, north of Wadsworth Avenue at about 9:15 p.m. The preliminary reports showed that a northbound Honda Accord lost control, crashed into a guardrail, and went down an embankment. The car vehicle finally came to a stop after colliding with a tree.

On arrival, first responders rushed the Honda driver, 55-year-old Tammy Silkwood, to a hospital with major injuries. Two passengers of the Honda were also taken to a hospital with moderate to major injuries. Officials believe that Silkwood was under the influence of drugs at the time of the collision. No other details are available.

An investigation is ongoing.
