55-year-old Perry Pless dead after a motorcycle crash in Cobb County (Powder Springs, GA)

Authorities identified 55-year-old Perry Pless, of Powder Springs, as the man who lost his life following a two-vehicle collision Friday in Cobb County.

The fatal motorcycle crash took place at the intersection of Powder Springs Road and Windy Hill Road/Macland Road moments after 2 p.m. According to the investigation reports, a white 2018 Toyota Camry was southbound in the left turn lane of Powder Springs Road preparing to turn left onto eastbound Windy Hill Road.

At the same time, a blue 2006 Suzuki GSX750 Katana motorcycle was in the right travel lane of northbound Powder Springs Road. The Toyota took a left turn onto the eastbound lanes of Windy Hill Road and entered into the path of the Suzuki for undetermined reasons. The motorcyclist tried to brake but slammed into the passenger side of the Toyota.

The driver of the Toyota Camry remained unharmed and refused medical aid at the scene. The motorcycle rider, identified as 55-year-old Perry Pless, was rushed to the hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. No further details were provided.

The crash remains under review.
