55-year-old Kevin Cook died after a car crash involving a deer in Zeeland Twp. (Zeeland Township, MI)

55-year-old Kevin Cook, of Zeeland, was identified by family members as the man who lost his life in a car accident involving a deer on 64th Avenue in Zeeland Township Tuesday morning.

The investigation reports showed that Mr. Cook was driving southbound on 64th Avenue, just south of Chicago Drive, when the incident took place. The reports further stated that the deer went into the windshield of his Honda Civic and got out of the back window, causing the car to go into a ditch. Mr. Cook was declared deceased at the scene by the officials. Alcohol, drugs and speed are not believed to be involved in this accident.

An investigation is ongoing at this time.
