On Thursday morning, a 54-year-old woman lost her life following a two-vehicle accident in Bossier City.
As per the initial information, the fatal car crash took place at the intersection of Benton Road and Hospital Drive. The early reports indicated that a KIA was heading south on Benton Road when the driver tried to turn left onto Hospital Drive. Just then, the car was hit on the passenger side by a Yukon going north on Benton Road. A passenger of the KIA suffered serious injuries in the accident.
On arrival, responders found that a 54-year-old female passenger in one of the vehicles was pinned and unconscious. Medics rushed her to Ochsner Health, where she later succumbed to her injuries. Officials believe that alcohol was not involved in the accident. All the roads impacted by the crash reopened by 11 a.m. No other details are immediately available.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
