53-Year-Old Man Injured In A Multi-Vehicle Crash In Lapeer (Lapeer County, MI)

The Lapeer County Sheriff’s Office responded to a multi-vehicle crash that injured a 53-year-old Otter Lake man in Lapeer.

A 2008 Dodge Dakota pickup truck traveling west on Barnes Lake failed to pause at a stop sign at M-24 in Deerfield Township.

The pickup truck then drove into the path of a 2015 Freightliner semi-truck towing a fully loaded 53-foot cargo trailer. The semi-truck driver could not avoid a collision and slam into the pickup truck.

The pickup truck rolled over onto its roof and the semi-truck jackknifed.

The Deerfield Township Fire Department extricated the Otter lake man. He was transported to McLaren Lapeer Region Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The semi-truck driver, a 27-year-old Melvindale man, was not injured.

A DTE utility pole was damaged, causing the diesel fuel to leak.
