53-year-old man dead after being hit by a bulldozer in Macomb County (Chesterfield Township, MI)

On Friday, a 53-year-old man, from Clinton Township, lost his life after being struck by a bulldozer in Macomb County.

As per the initial information, the fatal pedestrian incident was reported at 11:09 a.m. on a site on New Center Boulevard, south of 21 Mile Road in Chesterfield Township. The preliminary reports showed that the construction worker was standing outside his dump truck while a 58-year-old Melvindale resident in a bulldozer moved pieces of concrete that had been broken up.

The Clinton Township man got hit by the bulldozer and had traumatic injuries. He was later declared dead by the officials. It is unknown if the man died at the scene or after being taken to a hospital. The Melvindale man cooperated with the authorities. There was no indication of alcohol or drug use. No further details were provided.

The incident remains under review.
