On Monday, 53-year-old Karamjit Singh, of Fresno, died after being struck by a vehicle on Shaw Avenue.
As per the initial information, the fatal auto-pedestrian crash happened at about 3:30 a.m. near Shaw Avenue and Marty Avenue in front of Applebee’s restaurant. On arrival, medical crews provided first aid but Singh succumbed to his injuries later.
Reports stated that there is a crosswalk nearby where the accident occurred, but it is unclear if the pedestrian was in the crosswalk when the vehicle hit him. The involved driver pulled over a short distance from the crash site and cooperated with the investigators. Officials believe that drugs or alcohol were not involved in the accident. No other details were provided.
An investigation is continuing.
