52-year-old Gregory Lynn Baker dead after getting struck twice in Augusta (Augusta, GA)

On Saturday night, 52-year-old Gregory Lynn Baker, from Augusta, lost his life after being hit by two vehicles in Augusta.

As per the initial information, the fatal pedestrian crash took place in the 3700 block of Peach Orchard Road. The preliminary investigation showed that a man in wheel chair was hit by car and then got struck by RCSO Patrol Car. Gregory Lynn Baker, of the 3700 block of Byrd Road, was crossing Peach Orchard Road in his wheelchair when he got hit by a southbound vehicle.

Baker was thrown into the northbound lanes where he got hit by a Richmond County Sheriff’s patrol car. Baker suffered major injuries and was declared dead at the scene at 8:30 p.m. An autopsy is scheduled at the GBI Lab. No other information has been released.

An investigation is ongoing.
