51-year-old Walter Tant injured after a portion of load fell from an 18-wheeler, causing a wreck (Colmesneil, TX)

A portion of a load fell from a big-rig, resulting in a wreck Monday afternoon in Tyler County the left 51-year-old Walter Tant injured.

Authorities have so far not been able to find the big-rig or its driver. As per the initial information, the three-vehicle pile-up took place at around 2:00 on U.S. Highway 69, just south of Colmesneil. The preliminary reports showed that an 18-wheeler was heading southbound in the inside lane and a 2017 Harley Davidson motorcycle was following the 18-wheeler also in the inside lane while a 2012 Chevrolet passenger vehicle was traveling in the outside lane.

For unknown reasons, the material fell from the trailer that wrapped around the motorcycle, sending it into the way of the car where it was struck. The motorcyclist, identified as 51-year-old Walter Tant, of Port Arthur was rushed to St Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont for treatment of unspecified injuries. The driver of the car, identified as 16-year-old Michael Good, of Colmesneil, remained unharmed in the accident. No other details were provided.

The incident remains under active review.
