According to the California Highway Patrol, a motor vehicle accident was reported on Saturday in Turlock.
The officials stated that a 2011 Honda was traveling westbound on Monte Vista Avenue. The driver of the vehicle ran a stop sight and continues onto a private road.
Officials reported that the car hit a power pole that was 50 feet down the dirt road. The driver was ejected from the vehicle and the car ran over him.
Officials declared the 51-year-old Stockton man dead at the scene.
The 22-year-old passenger in the vehicle did not suffer any injury from the crash.
The initial investigation carried out by the CHP reported that the driver was not wearing a seat belt.
The use of drugs and alcohol might be the factor involved in the fatal crash.
