51-year-old Farmington Hills man dead after an auto-pedestrian crash on 12 Mile Road (Farmington Hills, MI)

A 51-year-old Farmington Hills man lost his life Wednesday after being struck by a pickup truck on 12 Mile Road.

As per the initial information, the fatal auto-pedestrian accident took place on 12 Mile Road near Halsted shortly before 6 p.m. The early reports indicated that the man was not in a crosswalk when he tried to go across 12 Mile Road. Just then, a Ford F-150 going south on 12 Mile hit the pedestrian.

On arrival, emergency crews rushed the victim to a hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. The driver and passenger of the truck remained at the scene and cooperated with the officials. No other details have been released by the authorities.

An investigation is continuing.
