Louisiana State Police reported a high-speed pursuit that resulted in a multi-car crash on Tuesday afternoon near the southern end of Livingston Parish.
According to Justin Cox, a spokesperson for Acadian Ambulance Service, five people were injured in the crash. At least three ground ambulances and two helicopters were called to the crash scene to evacuate patients.
Other details were not provided by Cox, citing medical privacy rules.
According to Christian Reed, a state police spokesman trooper, the pursuit started when a driver refused to stop for a traffic stop. The driver crashed into another vehicle on the Colyell Creek Bridge.
No further details regarding the crash are currently available. The crash remains under investigation.
