According to the California Highway Patrol, a hit-and-run accident occurred in El Cajon on Sunday. The crash happened on eastbound Interstate 8 at West Main at around 8:20 p.m.
According to the investigators, a Kia sedan and a 48-year-old man were involved in the collision. The Kia driver traveling westbound struck 48-year-old Reginald Burke in the process of changing lanes.
The officials stated that Burke suffered significant injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Some portions of the eastbound Interstate 8 at West Main are blocked for further investigation.
No additional information regarding the fatal crash was provided by the Deputies.
