According to the Los Angeles Police Department, a fatal crash was reported on Friday in Los Angeles. Officials confirmed that one person died due to the hit-and-run collision.
Authorities stated that the collision occurred just north of 43rd Western Avenue. A woman was crossing a street when she was struck by a gold Toyota. The vehicle paused for a moment but later fled from the scene.
The woman was transported to a nearby hospital with fatal injuries where she was later pronounced dead. The identity of the woman has not been determined.
The crash continues to be investigated by the LAPD. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision. There are no other details available at this time.
