According to the California Highway Patrol, a multi-vehicle accident occurred in Oakley on Sunday. The crash happened at the intersection of Laurel Road and Mellowood Drive at around 3:10 a.m.
According to the investigators, an unknown motorcycle and an unknown vehicle were involved in the collision. The driver of the motorcycle was traveling at a high rate of speed when it collided with the vehicle.
A 48-year-old Gustavo Garcia was identified as the driver of the motorcycle who suffered significant injuries and was pronounced dead.
