47-year-old Charles Idell died after a motorcycle crash in South Lake Tahoe (South Lake Tahoe, CA)

Authorities identified 47-year-old Charles Idell as the man who lost his life following a two-vehicle crash Wednesday in South Lake Tahoe.

The fatal motorcycle collision took place on Black Bart and Hank Monk avenues. Authorities responded to the scene after getting reports of the crash at 6:48 a.m. The investigation reports showed that a Yamaha ridden by Idell struck a Toyota pickup driven by local resident 40-year-old Jennifer Allen.

The reports further revealed that Idell was going northbound on Black Bart Avenue at an unknown speed just south of Hank Monk Avenue. Allen was making a left turn onto Black Bart Avenue southbound from Hank Monk Avenue westbound and as she was attempting to make the turn, Idell’s motorbike hit the left side of the Toyota.

Idell was rushed to Barton Memorial Hospital where he was later declared dead. Allen incurred minor injuries and was also taken to Barton. Both drivers were using safety equipment. There were no arrests made. No additional information is available.

An investigation is ongoing.
