46-year-old Michael Moredock dead after a hit-and-run crash in East Feliciana; driver sought (Slaughter, LA)

Authorities identified 46-year-old Michael Moredock, of Shreveport, as the man who lost his life following a bicycle accident late Friday night in East Feliciana Parish.

As per the initial information, the fatal hit-and-run crash took place at about 10:30 p.m. on Zachary-Slaughter Highway near the parish line. The preliminary investigation showed that Michael Moredock was riding his bicycle in the right-hand side of the northbound lane when he got hit from behind.

Due to the impact, Moredock was thrown from his bike and he landed in a grassy area along the highway. He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the collision. Moredock reportedly succumbed to his injuries at the scene. Officers are still searching for the hit-and-run driver. No other details are made available.

The incident remains under active review.
