The Texas Department of Public Safety reported a motor vehicle crash in Ward County.
According to the preliminary investigation, Odessa resident Jesus Alva-Fuentes, 46 veered into the south barrow ditch while driving eastbound on IH-20. Alva-Fuentes struck a concrete flyover pillar as a result of this.
Alva-Fuentes was pronounced dead at the scene after incurring fatal injuries. At this point, it is unknown if Alva-Fuentes was restrained by a seatbelt.
It is unsure what caused the crash whether drugs or alcohol were involved are yet to be found. The fatal crash is being investigated by the officials. Additional details regarding the crash are not available currently.
