45-year-old man seriously injured after a hit-and-run crash in Ocean Beach; driver wanted (San Diego, CA)

A 45-year-old man was injured after a bicycle accident Monday in Ocean Beach.

As per the initial information, the hit-and-run collision took place in the 2000 block of Sunset Cliffs Boulevard just before 11:30 a.m. on Monday. The preliminary reports showed that a 45-year-old man was riding a bicycle as he crossed the 2000 block of Sunset Cliffs Boulevard when a white car heading northbound on the same street struck him.

According to the authorities, the car pulled over for a moment but then continued northbound on Sunset Cliffs Boulevard before going east on Brighton Avenue. The cyclist sustained major injuries due to the crash. The car involved was described by the officials as a newer model white 4-door crossover-style SUV with silver alloy wheels.

Police believe the vehicle might have damage on its front right corner. The car might have a partial license plate that starts with 8YN, officers mentioned. San Diego Police have sought public’s help in locating the suspect. No other details are available.

The incident remains under review.
