A 45-year-old man lost his life after being hit by a vehicle Saturday night in Hayward.
As per the initial information, the authorities actively responded to the intersection of Tennyson Road and Dickens Avenue at about 9:30 p.m. on reports of an auto-pedestrian crash. The early reports showed that the male pedestrian was struck by a sedan for unknown reasons. The driver remained at the scene and was not hurt in the accident.
Emergency medical personnel treated the pedestrian who was unconscious. The pedestrian, only identified as a 45-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene. Alcohol was not believed to be factor in the crash. The identity of the deceased will be released once the next of kin is notified. No other details are available.
The incident is under investigation.
