The California Highway Patrol reported a deadly pedestrian crash that killed a 45-year-old in Bakersfield on Monday.
At around 6:00 a.m., a vehicle was travelling south on bound Union Avenue, North of Garden Avenue, southeast Bakersfield. It hit a 45-year-old pedestrian who was walking from east to west through Union Avenue.
As a result, the pedestrian was killed at the scene. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated in the investigation. The identity of the dead is not yet disclosed.
It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash. The cause of the fatal crash is still being investigated. No further information is available at the moment.
