45-Year-Old John Alfonso Tafoya Dead After Motorcycle Accident in Albuquerque (Albuquerque, NM)

New Mexico State Police state that a motorcyclist, identified as John Alfonso Tafoya, was killed following a collision with a semi-tractor trailer on Sunday in Quay County.

The motorcycle accident occurred while Tafoya was riding a small 212 cc mini bike and traveling west on U.S. 54. Official reports state that the victim, for reasons unknown, swerved into the side of a semi-tractor trailer also traveling west. 

Officials added that Tafoya was not wearing a helmet and succumbed to his severe injuries. The Office of the Medical Investigator pronounced the victim dead on the scene. Officials added that there were no signs of alcohol being a factor in the accident. 

State Polic is still investigating the incident.
