According to the San Antonio Police Department, a hit-and-run accident was reported early Friday morning.
The officials stated that the crash happened on South General McCullen Drive near Weir Avenue and Highway 90 at around 2 a.m.
The 44-year-old woman was crossing the street from west to east when she was struck by a blue vehicle.
The officials reported that the woman did not check if the southbound traffic had a green light before crossing.
The driver of the vehicle stopped momentarily near a parking lot and then fled the scene.
The injured woman was rushed to University Hospital by the EMS.
The identity of the victim is yet to be disclosed by the officials.
The suspect is still on the run stated the Police.
The suspect will be charged for not rendering help and fleeing from the scene reported the San Antonio Police.
