On Monday, a motorcycle accident claimed the life of 44-year-old Steven J Guimaraes, of Alexandria.
As per the initial information, officers actively responded to the area of Down’s Lane near Alexandria after getting reports of a crash. The preliminary reports indicated that Guimaraes was heading northbound on Down’s Lane on his 2021 Can-Am Spyder motorcycle when the motorcycle went off the roadway and hit a tree for reasons that are yet to be known.
The impact threw Guimaraes from his motorcycle. He reportedly received major injuries and was declared deceased at the scene by the emergency responders. No other details are immediately available.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
