44-year-old Romeo Lucas Torrez Perez killed after an auto-pedestrian collision in Nashville (Nashville, TN)

Authorities identified 44-year-old Romeo Lucas Torrez Perez as the man who died of injuries he suffered after being hit by vehicle on May 13 in Nashville.

The fatal auto-pedestrian crash took place in the 400 block of Harding Place. According to the investigation reports, Romeo Lucas Torrez Perez was hit by a Chevrolet Suburban while in the eastbound lanes.

The driver of the Suburban braked and tried to avoid hitting the man. The nearest crosswalk was about 800 feet away from the intersection on Nolensville Pike. On arrival, emergency personnel rushed Torrez to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he later succumbed to his injuries on Wednesday.

There were no indications of impairment at the scene, responders mentioned. The driver and passenger of the Suburban remained unharmed in the accident. No other details are made available.

The incident remains under investigation.
