According to the Louisiana State Police, a fatal crash was reported on Friday night in New Iberia.
Officials confirmed that one person died due to the accident.
Authorities stated that the collision occurred in the northbound lanes on Bull Island Road.
The deceased person was identified as Paul Flores.
Flores was struck by a Ford Ranger that was traveling in the same direction.
Flores changed lanes after a car driving northbound made him steer out of the way.
This put him in the path of the Ford, which ejected him from his bicycle.
Flores was pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck.
The driver of the Ford was not injured.
