According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, a motorcycle accident occurred in Hopkins County on Wednesday. The crash happened west of SH 11 at around 1:18 p.m.
According to the investigators, an unknown motorcycle and an unknown SUV were involved in the collision. The unknown motorcyclist was traveling eastbound and struck an unknown SUV head-on.
44-year-old Michael Huggins was identified as the motorcyclist who suffered significant injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Some portions of the west of SH 11 are blocked for further investigation. The cause of the accident is still being investigated. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role.
No additional information regarding the fatal crash was provided by the Deputies.
