The Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office identified 44-year-old Jessica Harper as the woman who lost her life following a two-vehicle accident Saturday evening on the Northwest Side that also caused injuries to a 74-year-old woman.
The fatal hit-and-run collision took place at 5:30 p.m. on Culebra Road and Alamo Downs Parkway, inside Loop 410. Witnesses informed police that a black GMC Yukon going westbound on Culebra Road went through the red light and crashed into a gray Ford Focus turning from Alamo Downs Parkway.
The driver of the Yukon fled the scene, traveling north on Alamo Downs Parkway. The driver still remains at large. The driver of the Focus, identified as Jessica Harper, was rushed to University Hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries.
A passenger in the Focus, only identified as a 74-year-old woman, was also transported to University Hospital. Police said she was listed in stable condition and suffered a broken left shoulder. No other details are available.
An investigation is ongoing.
