43-Year-Old Jose Manuel Sanchez Ontiveros Killed In A Hit-And-Run Accident In Bakersfield (Bakersfield, CA)

According to the California Highway Patrol, a hit-and-run accident was reported in Bakersfield on Tuesday night. 

The officials reported that 43-year-old Jose Manuel Sanchez Ontiveros of Wasco was killed in the crash that happened in the No.3 lane of northbound 99, south of Palm Street. 

Ontiveros was traveling in a white GMC Sierra when he made an unsafe lane change into the No.2 lane. Following the change of lane, he crashed into an unknown vehicle. 

The GMC hit the center median wall and then overturned onto the northbound lanes of the 99. 

Officials reported that Ontiveros was critically injured while his passenger Raina Lopez suffered moderate injuries. 

Lopez is being treated for her injuries in the hospital. 

Officials declared Ontiveros dead shortly after the crash. 

The fatal crash is being investigated at the moment.
