The Chandler Police Department reported a motor vehicle crash on Saturday night. Police stated that the accident happened close to Alma School and Elliot Roads at around 10 p.m. The collision involved a pedestrian.

When officials arrived, they found Jeremy Alan Gruis, 43 from Scottsdale had been struck by a driver while he was crossing the street. Gruis was rushed to a hospital with fatal injuries where he was later pronounced dead.

The crash was not caused by intoxication or speed, according to the investigators. The fatal crash is still being investigated by the police. Additional information regarding the crash is not available currently.
