42-year-old man dead after an auto-pedestrian crash in the Nestor neighborhood of San Diego (San Diego, CA)

On Tuesday evening, a 42-year-old man lost his life after being hit by a vehicle in the Nestor neighborhood of San Diego.

As per the initial information, the fatal auto-pedestrian collision took place at around 6 p.m. on Coronado Avenue near Green Bay Street, a few blocks west of Interstate 5 near a drive-in movie theater. The early reports showed that a 29-year-old man was traveling east towards the freeway in a 2015 Volkswagen Jetta when the pedestrian walked into the path of his car and got struck.

The man suffered major injuries and was declared dead at the scene by the officials. The identity of the deceased will be revealed once the next of kin is notified. The driver of the involved vehicle stayed at the scene. The driver was not impaired by drugs or alcohol at the time of the collision, officials mentioned. No other details are made available.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
