42-year-old Jesus Iglesias dead after an auto-pedestrian crash in Cameron County (Cameron County, TX)

Authorities identified 42-year-old Jesus Iglesias, from Edinburg, as the man who lost his life after being hit by a vehicle on Wednesday night in Cameron County.

As per the initial information, the fatal auto-pedestrian crash took place at around 9:29 pm. on State Highway 48 near Chemical Road in Cameron County.  The preliminary investigation showed a man was driving a 2003 blue Ford Ranger eastbound on SH 48 when he hit a person walking on the roadway.

The pedestrian, identified as 42-year-old Jesus Iglesias, succumbed to his injuries at the scene. Reports further stated that Iglesias was trying to retrieve gasoline because his vehicle had broken down on the side of the road. No other details are immediately available.

The incident remains under investigation.
