42-year-old Artemio Hernandez dead after a three-vehicle accident in El Segundo (El Segundo, CA)

On Tuesday, officials identified 42-year-old Artemio Hernandez as the man who lost his life following a multi-vehicle accident Sunday in El Segundo.

The fatal three-vehicle wreck took place on the eastbound Glenn Anderson (105) Freeway at North Nash Street just after 8 a.m. in which a Caltrans truck was involved. Emergency responders were sent to the crash scene at 8:28 a.m.

Hernandez suffered major injuries and was declared dead at the scene by the officials. The authorities announced a Sig alert at 8:20 a.m. shutting down the Nos. 1 and 2 lanes. No additional information has been provided.

The crash remains under investigation.
