41-year-old Nathan Scarborough seriously injured following a motorcycle crash in Southwest Lubbock (Lubbock, TX)

Authorities identified 41-year-old Nathan Scarborough as the man who was seriously injured following a single-vehicle accident in Southwest Lubbock.

As per the initial information, the motorcycle crash took place at 7:59 a.m. Dec. 9 in the 7000 block of 103rd Street. The preliminary reports showed that 41-year-old Nathan Scarborough was riding on a 2015 Triumph motorcycle westbound in the 7000 block of 103rd Street.

For an unknown reason, the motorcycle went off the roadway and hit a brick mailbox on the north side of the street. On arrival, medical personnel rushed Scarborough to University Medical Center by ambulance with life-threatening injuries. According to the reports, Scarborough oversees a financial services company in Lubbock. No others details are available.

An investigation is ongoing.
