41-year-old Kendra L Cowan and a child dead after a rollover crash near Cross Plains (Brown County, TX)

41-year-old Kendra L Cowan and a child, both from Brownwood, lost their lives following a rollover crash Sunday morning near Cross Plains.

As per the initial information, the fatal single-vehicle accident took place about 3.7 miles south of Cross Plains on State Hwy. 279 in Brown County. The early reports revealed that the driver of the pickup, Kendra L Cowan, was heading south on SH 279 when the vehicle drifted right and into a bar ditch. Cowan seemed to have overcorrected to the left as a result of which the truck flipped over.

Cowan and a child passenger was declared dead at the scene by the officials. Both the victims were not buckled up at the time of the accident. An adult passenger was rushed to Hendrick Medical Center with “stable/incapacitating injury.” The condition of a second child passenger is not known. No other details are made available.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
