4-Year-Old Bea Freeman Hospitalized After Hit-And-Run Incident In Mesa (Mesa, AZ)

Police reports state that a 4-year-old girl has sustained critical injuries in a hit-and-run accident that took place near Pioneer Park in Mesa on Sunday evening. 

Officers were called to the Main Street and Lesueur area at 4 PM, where they learned that a toddler ran onto the road and was struck by a silver sedan. Investigators of the incident state that the vehicle slowed down near the scene before fleeing – heading east on Main Street. 

Freeman sustained serious injuries and was transported to a hospital. The police identified Veronica Laprada, 48, as the owner of the vehicle at the scene of the collision. She was arrested and booked into jail shortly after. Laprada has been accused of the class 3 felony of failing to remain at the scene of a physical injury collision.
