4 people injured after an SUV vs. semi-truck collision in Austin (Austin, TX)

On Saturday morning, four people were hospitalized following an SUV vs. semi-truck collision in Austin.

As per the initial information, the two-vehicle crash took place at about 11 a.m. between Elroy Road and FM812 on TX-130. The early reports showed that an SUV and a semi-truck crashed into each other for reasons that are yet to be known. According to the reports, two people were trapped inside one of the vehicles.

On arrival, emergency crews rushed one adult to South Austin Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. Two other people were taken to the same hospital with possibly serious injuries and a child was taken to Dell Children’s Medical Center with non-fatal injuries.

Of the people that were trapped in the vehicle, one person was freed just after 11 a.m., and ATCEMS rescued the second victim shortly before noon. Officials said that STAR Flight responded to the scene to assist. No other details are made available.

The crash remains under investigation.
