On Sunday, four people suffered injuries following a traffic collision in Morristown.
As per the initial information, the two-vehicle crash took place at 12:39 a.m. on US-25 at Progress PKWY. The early reports showed that a Toyota Tacoma disregarded a red light on 25E at Progress Parkway and crashed into a Chevy Colorado. The force of the collision caused the Toyota to swerve left and it came to a stop on its side in the median in front of Weigles.
On the other hand, the Chevy ended up in the center of the northbound lanes. Three people in the Toyota and one man in the Chevy were pinned in their vehicles after the accident. Three Lifestars from Knoxville and one Medflight from Johnson City came to the scene to provide assistance.
Two people were freed from the Toyota and were airlifted to UT Medical Center, while another from the Toyota was transported by ground ambulance. The man from the Chevy was flown to Johnson City by helicopter. No other details are made available.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
