4 people, including a 2-year-old girl were injured following a DUI crash Tuesday on Interstate 20 in Arlington.
The preliminary reports showed that 25-year-old Tyler Hampton was driving erratically in a Mazda MX-5 with two adults and two children inside around 8:20 p.m. Tuesday when it slammed into a Toyota Tundra. A series of roadside sobriety tests revealed that Hampton was drunk. He did not receive serious injuries as a result of the crash.
Hampton was taken into custody on three counts of intoxication assault with serious bodily injury. The two adults, a 26-year-old man and 22-year-old woman, were hospitalized with serious injuries. A 4-year-old girl incurred only minor injuries while a 2-year-old girl was rushed to the hospital with critical injuries.
Witnesses reported police that Hampton was driving erratically in a Mazda MX-5 prior to the collision. He hit the Tundra, causing it to veer off the road, collide with a guardrail, roll and land on its side. He is being detained at the Arlington City Jail. Bond has not yet been set.
