4 people hospitalized after a motorcycle accident in Mesa (Mesa, AZ)

Four people were hospitalized after a traffic accident Saturday night in Mesa.

As per the initial information, just after 10 p.m., two motorcycles were heading southbound on Country Club Drive approaching Broadway Road when one motorcycle hit the other motorcycle from behind. Due to the impact, both the motorcycles lost control and crashed. Each motorcycle was occupied by two people at the time of the collision.

All four people had serious injuries with one person sustaining major injuries. On arrival, first responders rushed all of them to the hospital. Police say a blood test was requested for one of the motorcycle drivers for impairment. No other details have been available.

The crash remains under investigation.
