4 people hospitalized after a car slams into a building following a crash in Ray Township (Ray Township, MI)

On Sunday, four people suffered injuries following a traffic collision in Ray Township.

As per the initial information, the two-vehicle crash took place at the intersection of 27 Mile Road and Romeo Plank, at 5:15 p.m. The early reports showed that the driver of a white Escape ran a flashing red light and rammed into a Lexus, which had a blinking yellow light.

The Lexus had three occupants inside, including a 43-year-old driver from Clinton Township and two boys. After being struck, the Lexus ran into a house, while the Escape came to a stop on its side. All three occupants of the Lexus were taken to the hospital where one of the boys continues to be treated for life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the Escape, a 36-year-old Armada woman was also taken to the hospital, and has been released. The residence that was hit was unoccupied and the owner was informed about the damage. It is unclear if alcohol or drugs contributed to the accident. No other details are made available.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
